About
Yoga teacher & ashtanga practioner
I grew up in studios as a dancer for over 20 years, and while ballet was my first movement vocabulary, I turned to yoga as a way to explore movement that wasn’t about performing for someone else. It took a while but sent me on a journey inward, discovering the healing power of this moving meditation.
I completed my 200 hr teacher training at the Nexus Institute in Costa Rica with Janel Schullo, Horace Usry, and later dedicated a year in mentorship with Bibi Lorenzetti of Newburgh Yoga Shala, who cracked me open by sharing her wisdom of traditional Ashtanga & Mysore practices.
Always a dancer at heart, my classes get you going with intention and grace. My goal is to combine thoughtful sequencing with an attention to breath, cultivating a sense of calm and steadiness that translates to presence off the mat.
I’m passionate about the role yoga can play in social and environmental justice and see the practice of yoga as a practice for life – one that builds awareness and drives action.
In a previous life, I worked in international development & human rights and then made a strong pivot to live on and steward a piece of land in the Hudson Valley where I’m growing food, caring for the forest, and raising 2 dogs. You might see some of those nuggets come out here & in my classes too.
